The Matrix Resurrections has just dropped its second official trailer. Part of me wishes I had not seen it. But alas, how could one resist another peek into this new addition of Neo’s journey. Nineteen years ago, The Matrix Revolutions offered up Neo’s final sacrifice to right the world shared by computers and humanity. Still, the final scene of the story was ambiguous. Indeed, how things would play out was left to one’s imagination.
The latest movie returns to a world of two realities: one, everyday life; the other, what lies behind it. Mr. Anderson (aka Neo) will have to choose to follow the white rabbit once more. Keanu Reeves returns to reprise the dual role of Thomas Anderson/Neo. Carrie-anne Moss once again portrays Trinity.

Based on the trailer, the latest story exudes modernity. I expect a tale that parallels the current state of the world through the lens of an iconic hero battling his own demons. Welcome back Mr. Anderson.
The Matrix Resurrections will be released in theaters and on HBO Max December 22, 2021.
