Over the past 25 years, there have been numerous incarnations of Batman presented on the big screen. Yet the upcoming version in The Lego Batman Movie may well be the best ever. Featured in The Lego Movie, the Dark Knight, once again played by Will Arnett, now has his own solo LEGO movie debuting in February 2017. Stating we can’t wait would be an understatement.
Check out the latest Trailer for The Lego Batman Movie:
Based on the trailer, the story looks to be an inspired zany take on the Batman universe. Michael Cera plays an over the top enthusiastic Robin. Ralph Fiennes is the wise but frustrated butler Alfred. Rosario Dawson is Barbara Gordon, the new police commissioner who wants to team up with the caped crusader. And Zach Galifianakis rounds out the cast playing the Joker whose deeply troubled the Dark Knight doesn’t view him as his one and only villain. Even Superman stops by for a cameo recalling the Batman V Superman big screen debacle. As for Batman himself? Expect a comic journey of self-discovery addressing the Bruce Wayne/Batman identity crisis.
The creative geniuses at Warner Bros. Pictures and LEGO truly appreciate the subject matter as evidenced in every frame of the latest trailer. Besides, it’s Batman and LEGO. What’s not to love? February 2017 can’t arrive soon enough.
