Gazing upon the Periodic Table normally leaves kids and adults alike perplexed. Explaining the relevance of each element and how it functions in the real world can be challenging. Yet the illustrated periodic table created by Boeing software engineer Keith Enevoldsen provides an accessible and fun resource.
Chemistry for the Masses
Enevoldsen’s design targets students in elementary through high school, but it can also be used by adults seeking to review chemistry concepts. His illustrated periodic table contains a helpful illustration accompanying each element found in nature.
The table can also demonstrate other facts such as an element’s atomic number and material state (solid, liquid, or gas). This educational resource and related materials are available and downloadable.
Enevoldsen offers tables in different formats (words or in pictures) and as posters available for purchase via his website. He also provides print-your-own element flash cards, Element sheets, Atomic Orbitals Chart, and more.
