LEGO releases 1989 Batmobile

LEGO 1989 Batmobile dark
LEGO has a lock on pop culture. 2019 represents a yearlong celebration of Batman’s 80th anniversary. Releasing a set featuring an iconic Batmobile makes sense. LEGO chose a replica of the cape crusader’s ride from the 1989 Tim Burton film. The movie just happens to be celebrating its 30th anniversary. Holy perfect nostalgic timing, Batman!

Comprising 3,306 pieces, you can expect a slide-open cockpit, wrap-around windshield, bat-themed hubcaps, two pop-up machine guns, and decorative grappling hooks. It measures 23 inches long, eight inches wide, and four inches tall fully assembled.

Also included are three new minifigures of Batman, Vicky Vale, and the Joker. In addition, the set comes with a rotating display stand with informational plate as well as other accessories.

All this Bat-centric goodness will cost you approximately $249.99. The Batmobile set will be available on November 29th (Black Friday) at LEGO stores and via the LEGO website. It may not be the LEGO set you want, but the LEGO set you need.
