Building off the popularity of the Netflix series, Stranger Things, the movie aims to incorporate teenage high jinks along with the supernatural genre.
Wonder Woman (2017) demonstrated the vast audience appeal of a female-led super hero movie. Critically acclaimed as well as fan approved, the box office hit was destined for a sequel. Enter Wonder Woman 1984. The director, Patty Jenkins, claims the film is more of standalone movie rather than a continuation of the first story. Still, there will be returning cast members (i.e. Steve Trevor) from the first movie so how connected or not connected it will be remains to be determined.
