The Suicide Squad (2021) – Movie Trailer

The Suicide Squad reflects the creative fringe of the DC Universe. It asks the question “if super villains could team up on missions for the greater good, what would happen?” Granted, these super villains have tiny explosives implanted which will detonate if they stray from the mission. Nonetheless, the assembled motley crew must still manage to work with one another. Therein lies the fun. It’s all about personal conflict management. Director James Gunn is helming the latest iteration of The Suicide Squad. The first movie trailer of Gunn’s version promises a rollicking ride.

Fair warning before watching the trailer. There is gratuitous violence, a healthy dose of expletives and even a King Shark for those traumatized by land sharks. Definitely not safe for work viewing…unless you’re working remotely.

In just three minutes it showcases sweet comic book goodness plus the added bonus of Steely Dan music.

Members of the Suicide Squad include Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Peacemaker (John Cena), Bloodsport (Idris Elba) King Shark (Sylvester Stallone), Polka-Dot Man (David Dastmalchian), Ratcatcher II, Savant (Michael Rooker), Weasel (Sean Gunn), Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Mongal (Mayling Ng), Blackguard (Peter Davidson), Javelin (Flula Borg), and T.D.K. (Nathan Fillion). And we have Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) back calling the shots.

The movie drops on August 8, 2021 in movie theaters as well as on HBO Max.
