Paramount unleashed the first trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. And from what we can tell, they’re leaning in on the early teenage years. The stylish aesthetic is pure grime and sewer ooze with a healthy splash of color. Director Jeff Rowe is aiming to reinvigorate the excitement of these heroes in a half shell.
The movie features an all-new story of master rat martial artist Splinter (Jackie Chan) and his four adoptive sons Donatello (Micah Abbey), Michelangelo (Shamon Brown Jr.), Leonardo (Nicolas Cantu), and Raphael (Brady Noon). Although they fill their nights with heroic exploits, the turtles desperately long to be accepted as just normal kids too by the city they love. Meeting April O’Neill (Ayo Edebiri) might just change everything.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem also stars Seth Rogen, John Lena, Hannibal Buress, Rose Byrne, Ice Cube, Natasia Demetriou, Giancarlo Esposito, Post Malone, Paul Rudd, and Maya Rudolph.
The movie hits theaters on August 4th, 2023
