LEGO has listened to Batman fans. 2016 marks the 50th Anniversary of the beloved 1966 Batman TV series starring Adam West and Burt Ward. On March 1, 2016, LEGO is releasing an elaborate 2500 piece set centered on Batman, the Batcave, his vehicles and mansion.
1966 Batman LEGO set Highlights
The beloved series has re-captured our imagination in recent years fueled by the resurgence of Batman in movies (Chris Nolan trilogy as well as upcoming Batman v. Superman), video games (Arkham Asylum, Batman Lego, etc.), and the comics. Below are some of the highlights from the new building block set:
- Batlab with Batcomputer
- Wayne Manor w/exterior wall to climb on
- Bruce Wayne’s study featuring Batphone and false bookcase that slides open to reveal secret entrance to Batcave
- Batpoles!!!
- Vehicles including Batcopter, Batcycle and Batmobile
- Nine minifigures: Batman, Robin, Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson, Alfred Pennyworth, Joker, Catwoman, the Riddler and the Penguin.
The LEGO DC Superheroes Batman Classic TV Series set will retail for $269.99. Recommended for ages 14 and up. These limited release sets tend to be available for a short period of time. Collectors and fans alike will undoubtedly scoop up this homage to the caped crusader.
