Finding Zen in a bowl of Cereal

As long as I’ve been inhabiting this little blue planet, I’ve loved eating cereal. It nourishes me without requiring focus. I’m free to wander in thought. When I return from my mind’s journey the bowl’s empty yet I feel complete. As a Dad, I see this existential pattern forming with my children. They too will experience finding Zen in a bowl of cereal.
I’m the #KingOfSoup, there is none Higher!

When Idahoan® created their Premium Steakhouse® line of potato soups, it was inevitable they’d seek out a #KingofSoup. Who better to inform the masses about the tasty goodness found in said potato soup. Besides, as a Dad, I know a thing or two about making the best of a situation. The opportunity to make dining-in a special occasion struck a chord. Perhaps that was a hunger pang? But I digress. I was happy to have the chance to partake in a memorable evening that would offer culinary delights as well as the coronation of yours truly. Did I mention I am the #KingofSoup?
Toys and Gadgets: Turtle Beach Stream Mic Review

Video game audio matters just as much as the visual which is why the Turtle Beach Stream Mic was created. Most Game Headsets have attached microphones. Yet the voice sound quality is mediocre. This can be problematic when playing online. The Turtle Beach Stream Mic claims to be the voice audio solution gamers need.
Toys and Gadgets: Moto Racer 4 Review

Microids Moto Racer 4 enters the fray promising to fulfill arcade-style motorbike racing video games fans need for speed. I’ve been a huge fan of racing-based video games but for the most part that meant cars. To me motorcycles have always seemed like ridiculously high speed machines built for loners with a death wish. Still, that perception was based on fear rather than firsthand knowledge. In truth, motorcycles look like a lot of fun. Thankfully video games allow us to dip our collective toes into the unknown. I couldn’t wait to test out Moto Racer 4 on our newly acquired Xbox One S.
Star Wars Rogue One Resonates

I can’t prove it yet but I’m fairly certain I’m the last person to have seen the movie Rogue One. Weeks after the movie was released, I sat alone in an empty movie theater. I wondered if the hype for the latest Star Wars story would remotely meet my expectations. Still, the cloud-like comfort of my reclining seat coupled with fresh popcorn helped ease the tension. After what felt like a zillion movie trailers, the movie began to play.
Toys and Gadgets: XBOX One S Test Drive

I finally succumbed to the pressure and purchased a Microsoft Xbox One S. My son had been lobbying me for this particular game console for the entire year. It turns out “ALL” of his friends have one and he’s been the odd man out amongst his peers. Go figure. Yet it wasn’t that particular shaky sob story that convinced me. Instead it was the absurdly steep Black Friday discounts.
Toys and Gadgets: Nintendo Super Mario Run is Here!

The wait for Nintendo Super Mario Run has ended. The world’s favorite little mustached plumber has a new game available for mobile devices. It’s a paradigm shift for the beloved Video Game Industry giant since historically Nintendo has shunned providing its 1st party game titles to non-Nintendo hardware.
Sharing the Laughter and Love – Remembering Alan Thicke

Alan Thicke passed away at the age of 69. He died of heart attack yesterday. He had been playing hockey with one of his children. Alan was best known to millions for the role of Jason Seaver, a work-at-home-Dad in the 1980s situation comedy Growing Pains. His character exemplified the positive influence a father could have on his kids when placed in the position of primary care provider. As a Dad, Jason Seaver wasn’t perfect, yet he was always present. The audience discovered it wasn’t just the kids who experienced growing pains, it was the entire family.
