It’s 2019 and another flu season has hit home. Once more I find myself fortunate enough to be spared the dismal experience. Like clockwork, I’ve taken a flu vaccine shot every year. Yet I’ve not been able to convince my wife and kids to do the same. Our progeny crow the standard “I hate shots!” argument while my wife typically questions the effectiveness of the vaccine. The result? My beloved and bundles of joy catch the flu every year, almost at the same time, while I’m left to dutifully manage their recovery. Still, this year might be different.

A Beautiful Mind – Stephen Hawking takes Flight

Stephen Hawking (1942 – 2018) fit into an infinitely small category, Scientific genius. In the latter half of the 20th century and nearly the first two decades of the 21st, Hawking, a brilliant theoretical physicist, cosmologist, mathematician and a husband and father, was on par with Albert Einstein. Given his difficult journey living with ALS, it’s even more remarkable the world was graced with his presence. Mr. Hawking passed away this month at the age of 76. His legacy will endure.
