Once upon a time, there was an annual advertising campaign that asked the winning recipient of a Super Bowl “What are you going to do next?” upon which they’d gleefully respond “I’m going to Disneyland!” After all, winning meant reaping the rewards of hard work. A trip to Disneyland promised an affordable family-oriented magical place to celebrate and indulge in one’s good fortune. Alas, the times have changed.

You can always tell the theme of the NY Auto Show. I couldn’t help notice the emphasis on electric and hybrid-powered vehicles. Huge banners as well as giant flying pigs boldly announced innovation. Despite the Trump administration’s recent reversal of environmental standards for the automotive industry, forward progress remained intact. We picked the best in show.

“Na-Na Na-Na Na-Na Na-Na Na…BATMAN!!!” Yes, it’s that time of year again. Today marks a DC Comics decreed day of celebration for all things related to The Dark Knight. Our favorite Caped Crusader continues to capture the imagination of generations of fans. For a hero who deliberately shuns the spotlight, Batman remains possibly the most popular superhero ever created. Calm down Superman fans, the overpowered boy scout is pretty swell too. But alas, we digress. There’s plenty going on for Batman day and we thought we’d offer up a roundup.

Cowabunga! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows brings the fun of the franchise back to the big screen with a rip-roaring romp of an adventure. Unlike the more serious-toned superhero movies released this year, the new TMNT film serves up a calorie laden, popcorn movie feast for the eyes.
First Trailer for Ghostbusters Reboot
The first official trailer for the reboot of Ghostbusters was released. There’s an abundance of special effects scenes as well as a tip of the hat to the beloved original movie. Yet that feeling of infectious zany joy one experienced watching the 1984 comedy classic seems noticeably absent. It’s still too early to cast judgement on the reboot since movie trailers are often quite different than the actual film. Hopefully this re-imaging of the Ghostbusters franchise will offer a compelling story.
