Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former U.S. President Bill Clinton, announced her new children’s book featuring 13 inspirational women in American history. The name of the book, “She Persisted”, reflects a statement made by Mitch McConnell, the Republican Senate majority leader, in February 2017 after Republican senators voted to formally silence Senator Elizabeth Warren, Democrat of Massachusetts, as she was reading a 1986 Coretta Scott King letter criticizing Senator Jeff Sessions’s civil rights record.

Brad Meltzer writes Awesome Children’s Books Too

Prior to February 2016, I was unaware of author Brad Meltzer. Yet after listening to the man deliver the Dad 2.0 Summit keynote, I became a diehard fan. He spoke in great detail about the importance of legacy and gratitude in one’s life. In addition, he provided an overview of his prolific work which included writing several novels, comic books, and most recently, children’s literature. I was particularly intrigued by his biography series for kids. The stories are based on the lives of real life historical icons during their childhood.
Dinosaur vs. The Potty

Potty training can be a turbulent time for kids and parents alike. The daily use of the potty becomes a battle of wills for most young children making the transition from diapers to the porcelain throne. Each day kids will simply put it off as long as possible in favor of continuing any fun activity they’re immersed in at the moment. Such is the premise of the children’s book Dinosaur vs. The Potty from author-illustrator Bob Shea.
Bear at Work

One of the Bear series of children’s board books published by Barefoot Books, “Bear at Work”, tells a whimsical tale of a day in the life of a postal worker bear living in a small town. Embodied with Debbie Harter’s vibrantly rich illustration style as well as Stella Blackstone’s playful use of rhyme, this inviting little book easily captivates the attention of young readers.
I Lego N.Y.

A great children’s board-book, “I LEGO N.Y.” by designer and illustrator Christoph Niemann, will delight children and adults alike. The book, filled with abstract images of representations of New York City created with LEGO bricks, is sure to charm kids and foster their own imaginative building ideas.
