
Being immersed in the emotional tempest of a presidential election year, it can be difficult to acknowledge there are still good people making a difference in the world. Yet if one removes the countless layers of vitriol, one will discover countless examples of human kindness. Such is the case with an organization called E-Nable. They describe themselves as “a global network of digital humanitarians who are using 3D printing to create free (and low cost to produce) hands and arms for those born without fingers, or who have lost them due to war, disease or accident.” We’d call them heroes.

For the majority of my existence here on the planet Earth I’ve been an active individual. Quite frankly, I loved the athletic lifestyle. Fatherhood changed my daily exercise routine, yet integrating play with my children allowed me to adapt to a new paradigm of Dad fitness. Last year, motivated by friends, I began to train for an endurance race (i.e. Tough Mudder). My right leg got injured, specifically, tarsal tunnel syndrome. This active Dad’s lifestyle came to an abrupt halt.
