Ant-Man (2015) debuted as a breath of fresh air in the Marvel Cinema Universe (MCU). Paul Rudd was all-in playing Scott Lang, a lovable clever cat burglar who stumbles into becoming the new Ant-Man. Scott also happened to be a goofy, endearingly devoted divorced Dad to his daughter, Cassie. In addition, the movie featured a romantic comedy subplot between Scott Lang and Hope Pym. Factor into the mix a heist film vibe coupled with zany sidekicks and you achieve cinematic magic. Alas, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023) possesses little of the original’s quirky brilliant fun.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem’s first trailer drops
Paramount unleashed the first trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. And from what we can tell, they’re leaning in on the early teenage years. The stylish aesthetic is pure grime and sewer ooze with a healthy splash of color. Director Jeff Rowe is aiming to reinvigorate the excitement of these heroes in a half shell.
Paul Rudd gives big performance in Marvel’s Ant-Man

Admittedly I knew very little about Marvel’s comic book hero Ant-Man. But I’d been following Paul Rudd’s career for years. He’s the type of actor who seems like a great guy in real life which comes across on screen in nearly every performance he’s given to date. I believe his innate charisma, much like Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) and Chris Pratt (Peter Quill aka Star-Lord), was a factor in Mr. Rudd being cast for the lead role. Still, star power comprises only one piece of the puzzle needed to create a successful action blockbuster. Story matters above all. Ant-Man, the tiniest of Marvel’s superheroes, packs the biggest heart.
