Marvel vampire movie, “Morbius”, just released its first trailer. You meant Blade, right? Not quite. It’s Morbius. Who? You know, Morbius, a one time villain and part-time anti-hero from the Spider-verse. Did I mention that Jared Leto is playing the lead role? Wait. It will be fine. I know his creative interpretation of the Joker in “Suicide Squad” left fans flat. But before casting judgement on his latest efforts, take a look at this just released teaser trailer.

Cosplayers take back New York Comic Con

In recent years the New York Comic Con has been built around hype. What was once the playing field of comic book geeks became a mainstream event. The television and film industry hitched their collective wagons to the Comic Con phenomenon choosing to premiere big budget movie trailers and trotting out movie stars to meet their adoring fans. The media flocked to the events further escalating expectations and prompting ticket sales to Comic Cons, specifically in San Diego and New York City. For true fans, Comic Cons became lost in the excess. Yet despite it all, 2015 will be known as the year Cosplayers took back New York Comic Con.
Paul Rudd gives big performance in Marvel’s Ant-Man

Admittedly I knew very little about Marvel’s comic book hero Ant-Man. But I’d been following Paul Rudd’s career for years. He’s the type of actor who seems like a great guy in real life which comes across on screen in nearly every performance he’s given to date. I believe his innate charisma, much like Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) and Chris Pratt (Peter Quill aka Star-Lord), was a factor in Mr. Rudd being cast for the lead role. Still, star power comprises only one piece of the puzzle needed to create a successful action blockbuster. Story matters above all. Ant-Man, the tiniest of Marvel’s superheroes, packs the biggest heart.
2015 New York Toy Fair in Pictures

The magic of the NY Toy Fair lies in the sights and sounds one experiences while gazing upon the latest and greatest the industry has to offer. Innovation and most importantly fun take top priority as toy manufacturers try to entice buyers and the press alike to fawn over their latest gizmo. For me, it’s an opportunity to be a kid again in the biggest toy store in the world.
Captain America becomes the Hero We Need

Chris Evans returns to reprise the role of Captain America in the sequel titled Captain America: The Winter Soldier, a smartly written movie that’s part thriller as well as action flick. Robert Redford joins the cast adding a maturity and gravitas that sets the tone of the story. Gritty, violent, and dark, action fans will rejoice as Captain America’s super power abilities are fully showcased in his attempt to untangle a web of lies stretching back to his own past.
Review and Giveaway of Marvel Super Hero Mashers

Hasbro recently sent me a pair of Marvel Super Hero Mashers to review. Being a kid at heart, naturally I couldn’t wait to tear open the box to play with review the toys. Yet demonstrating a modicum of restraint, I let my 7 year old son have the honor. These new toy action figures from Hasbro, aptly called Mashers, allow for a child (and kids at heart) to switch parts (heads, arms, and legs as well as accessories) in order to create a new hero. Read on for my review as well as the chance to win your very own Marvel Super Hero Masher from Hasbro.
