In our never ending pursuit of testing out fun ideas, we’ve decided we’re giving away this cool shirt to one of our lucky readers. But let’s back up a bit, shall we? We’ve designed fun t-shirts and placed them for sale on Amazon with very little fanfare. In a sense, the action was implemented as an entrepreneurial experiment to see which CuteMonster designs might catch on with the public at large.
When I was little I always wanted to hang out with the Hollywood Monsters. I thought it would be fun to go to the mall with Frankenstein and the Wolfman. Can you imagine that? Walking around in the mall with these two monsters and all the hi-jinx that you would get into. That would be a fantastic time. Am I the only one that thought this way?

Starting with the nascent days of my existence on planet earth, obtaining the appropriate amount of rest had never been a priority. Perhaps instinctively, I obsessed over missing out on something. As the years passed I became a father and developed into a light sleeper. Possessing Dad-fueled ninja-like hyper awareness, it would take little more than a child’s inadvertent step on a piece of spilled toasted oats cereal 2 rooms away to awaken me into a state of readiness. Whether I’d actually respond or not or simply go back to sleep is another matter, but I digress. Longterm though, I found myself wading deep in the parental waters of sleep-deprivation. Clearly a change was needed.
Battles occur each and every day in family life. Some of the daily classics include tons of toys encroaching on living space, bedtime routines vs the space time continuum, and of course — brushing teeth viewed as blatant oppression by kids. Yet, some of the worst conflicts have been over picky eating. Thankfully that’s in the past now. You see, I had an epiphany that picky eating might well be a blessing in disguise.

The Star Wars marketing hype has reached fever pitch. Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in December 2015 and fans worldwide are clamoring for every tidbit of information associated with the film. My own family has certainly not been immune to being obsessed over the next chapter of the Star Wars story. The movie bridges a generational divide, bonding us, surrounding us, you know…like the Force. When Hasbro sent over Star Wars related games to CuteMonster HQ to try out for family game night, I could hear John Williams’ epic Star Wars theme music in my mind. The only thing missing was a piping hot bucket of popcorn.
Hasbro recently sent me a pair of Marvel Super Hero Mashers to review. Being a kid at heart, naturally I couldn’t wait to tear open the box to play with review the toys. Yet demonstrating a modicum of restraint, I let my 7 year old son have the honor. These new toy action figures from Hasbro, aptly called Mashers, allow for a child (and kids at heart) to switch parts (heads, arms, and legs as well as accessories) in order to create a new hero. Here at CuteMonster.com headquarters, we just acquired a brand new Nintendo Wii U over the holiday break. The good folks at Actision were excited to have us review their latest entry in the Skylanders universe, namely Skylanders Swap Force. Unfortunately, they sent us the Nintendo Wii version instead of the Wii U. Soon after Activision provided us with the Wii U version which we plan to review in the near future. In the meantime, we decided to give away this brand new Activision Skylanders Swap Force Starter Pack for the Nintendo Wii to one of our lucky readers.
