“I am Batman” are the words that strike fear in criminal hearts. They belong to the Dark Knight– a superhero possessing no super powers other than determination, intellect, physical training, and courage. I am Batman is also the title of a wonderful kid’s book by author Brad Meltzer and illustrator Christopher Eliopoulos.

Greta Thunberg is Changing the World
Greta Thunberg, at the age of 16, spoke truth to power today at the United Nations and the world took notice. As a member of Generation X, my priorities at 16 years old were vastly different. My immediate concerns were meeting girls and obtaining a car. I also remember being into sports, music, and break dancing. Pop culture mattered to me; shaped my views on a superficial level. Vanity held court. Hair products were paramount. After all, I was an adolescent. Greta Thunberg, on the other hand, prompted by her alarm over Climate Change, has eschewed typical teen life. Instead, she’s fighting for our future.

Spring has arrived and so too the new DC Justice League Trailer. After the lukewarm reception to Batman V Superman, Warner Brothers Studios desperately needs a critically acclaimed hit if they hope to compete with the Marvel Cinema Universe juggernaut. The studio has promised a less dark tone than its previous attempts and from the looks of the trailer, comic relief seems to be deeply integrated into the mix. Cross your fingers DC Comics fans.

The big gorilla has captivated audiences since gracing the big silver screen in 1933. So too the Dark Knight appearing for the very first time in Detective Comics #27 in May 1939. American Pop Culture always seems to find entertaining ways to connect us with these enduring icons.
LEGO BATMAN MOVIE Trailer is What We Need
Over the past 25 years, there have been numerous incarnations of Batman presented on the big screen. Yet the upcoming version in The Lego Batman Movie may well be the best ever. Featured in The Lego Movie, the Dark Knight, once again played by Will Arnett, now has his own solo LEGO movie debuting in February 2017. Stating we can’t wait would be an understatement.

Promotional campaigns from charities have a tough sell. They’re tapping into your better nature to hand over your hard-earned cash for the greater good. Normally, that wouldn’t be such a bad thing. Yet when the average individual gets inundated by appeals for donations by numerous organizations on a daily basis, the pressure can be overwhelming. Quite frankly, it can even becoming downright irritating. So how does a charity with a worthwhile cause break through to the desensitized masses? Perhaps teaming up celebrities and sports stars to make a donation pitch using humor in a web video.
2015 New York Toy Fair in Pictures
The magic of the NY Toy Fair lies in the sights and sounds one experiences while gazing upon the latest and greatest the industry has to offer. Innovation and most importantly fun take top priority as toy manufacturers try to entice buyers and the press alike to fawn over their latest gizmo. For me, it’s an opportunity to be a kid again in the biggest toy store in the world.

Batman has always held a special place in comic book fans’ hearts. He has no superpowers yet may be arguably the greatest superhero ever. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Dark Knight. To celebrate, DC Entertainment is partnering with thousands of comic book stores nationwide for “Batman Day” on Wednesday, July 23, 2014.
