LEGO has a lock on pop culture. 2019 represents a yearlong celebration of Batman’s 80th anniversary. Releasing a set featuring an iconic Batmobile makes sense. LEGO chose a replica of the cape crusader’s ride from the 1989 Tim Burton film. The movie just happens to be celebrating its 30th anniversary. Holy perfect nostalgic timing, Batman!

There’s always something happening in NYC including visits from King Kong and Batman’s new Justice League version of the Batmobile. The big gorilla has captivated audiences since gracing the big silver screen in 1933. So too the Dark Knight appearing for the very first time in Detective Comics #27 in May 1939. American Pop Culture always seems to find entertaining ways to connect us with these enduring icons.
Batman Visits New York City’s Times Square
I’ve received several Public Relations invitations to media events over the years. Quite frankly, they almost never live up to the hype. But every once in awhile, you luck into something special. Yesterday I had the opportunity to hang out with the caped crusader himself, the classic TV series Batman, in New York City’s Times Square at Ripley’s Believe it or Not! Odditorium. Did I mention he drove up in the Batmobile?!! He was there to unveil Mezco Toyz new Batman Mez-itz line from the 1966-68 “Batman” TV series.
