Little known fact: Time moves at the pace it wants to move whether one is having fun or not. Consider Winter break for example. Here in the United States, we are collectively in the midst of a long school mandated kids centric “vacation”. Days and night have become a blur. Ask any parent of young elementary school aged children what day it is I suspect you’ll receive a long blank stare followed by a pained groan with muttered expletives. Don’t get me wrong. I love my children and countless millions of parents love theirs as well. But our collective cup hath runneth over. The kids need to go back to school now.

Bronx Zoo


It really is all happening at The Bronx Zoo. Kids of all ages gravitate towards the wildlife park every day to visit thousands of species in one of the United States largest zoos located in the heart of the Bronx in New York City. In the last 11 years there has been a major transformation to the zoo’s facilities as well as the habitats of the animals. No longer are some of the larger species enclosed in cages. Instead they’ve been given room to roam freely (well, almost, don’t worry).

Attended a baptism party recently. On the surface, one would guess such a gathering would be a low key family event. Little did I suspect the combination of an empty dance floor, balloons, eight or so kids ranging in age from 2 to 10 and a copious amount of sweets could erupt into a cage match of epic proportions.
