You know Cookie Monster. To many, he’s our spirit animal. The big furry blue guy personifies the world’s love of cookies. Now in a partnership with the Sesame Workshop, Hasbro Pulse HasLab has created a fully poseable, full-size, photo-realistic Cookie Monster replica. It’s priced at $299.99 and will require at least 3000 backers to be produced. Collectors will have a chance to have their very own version of a childhood icon. Will Cookie Monster be for you?

Sesame Street celebrates its 45th anniversary this year. An amazing milestone the generations of parents and kids appreciate as well as The Count…”one year!..ah ah aaah…two years!…ah ah aaah…three years!….” Sesame Street and the New York Public Library are paying tribute to the milestone by unveiling behind-the-scenes footage, photographs, storyboards, and offering a child-friendly area where kids can read and play games.
New York Toy Fair 2012: Best of Show

The 2012 New York Toy Fair provided a preview of the upcoming products from a vast array of companies both big and small. Recently I was invited to attend Hasbro’s media event showcasing their latest products for 2012. Adding to the fun was a celebration of the 60th Anniversary of beloved toy icon Mr. Potato Head. In fact, life-sized Mr. and Mrs. Potato head made an appearance for the occasion with birthday cake along with a spirited chorus of well wishers. Afterwards, attendees at the event were whisked off in groups of five to tour through a labyrinth of Hasbro Toys. Based on my first impressions of the previewed items, the following represents the best of Hasbro’s Toy lineup for 2012.
