RIDEMAKERZ Chevrolet Corvette C6RS Review and Giveaway – Help Breast Cancer Research Foundation

Toy car maker RIDEMAKERZ recently contacted me to review their Chevrolet Corvette C6RS – Special Edition – BCRF. Given that RIDEMAKERZ will be opening up a store within a store this Fall at FAO Schwarz in New York City, I was intrigued to get a first hand look at one of their toy cars. They have a similar business model to Build – it- Yourself stores in which a customer can choose different styles, parts, etc. in millions of combinations to create the cool car ride of their dreams. Factor in that RIDEMAKERZ generously offered to giveaway a Chevrolet Corvette C6RS – Special Edition – BCRF to one of our readers and that this limited edition car will support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, I welcomed the opportunity.
Does Halloween mean Trick or Treating Anymore? Take our Poll.

As a kid growing up in the Bronx, Halloween was always a special time to me. Visions of overflowing bags of candy, costumes, and the thrill of the unknown made concentrating in school nearly impossible. Yet Halloween in the Bronx also meant large groups of kids actively roaming about in search of mayhem. Candy merely represented an added bonus to the evening. Neighborhoods were transformed into the wild west as evidenced by the sticky aftermath of epic eggs and shaving cream battles. For one crisp Autumn night each year, we were unapologetically wild things. Then seemingly overnight, times changed.

Chipolte releases Animated Short and Mobile Game to Condemn Industrial Food Practices

Chipotle, a popular mexican food restaurant chain, recently released a new mobile game and a short animated film called “The Scarecrow” about the abominations of industrial farming. The game and the video were created by Chipotle with Moonbot Studios and CAA Marketing. “The Scarecrow’s” setting reveals a surreal bleak world draped in hopelessness accompanied by a haunting soundtrack of Fiona Apple singing “Pure Imagination” from “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”. There’s something eerily captivating about every scene much like director Tim Burton’s “Nightmare before Christmas”. Yet it’s the story that shines.

Facing the Danger: Keeping Your Family Safe

My wife, kids, and I strolled through Chicago’s Grant Park on a hot August weekday afternoon as we leisurely made our way back to the hotel. We completed a fun yet exhausting visit to the Shedd Aquarium. The Summer breeze cascaded gently through the vibrantly green leafed trees which provided welcome relief from the intense heat. The two little people of our group attempted to keep pace with the grownups but inevitably began to show signs of fatigue. Our 6 year old son exclaimed “your legs are TWICE the size of mine which means I have to do TWICE THE WORK when I walk with you!” Of course our 4 year old daughter concurred with his assessment and initiated her relentless rallying cry “pick me up Daddy!!” Given that we were less than 10 minutes away from our destination, I encouraged them to soldier on even adding the incentive of a snack of their choice at the hotel food mart. After muttering a few indiscernible replies, they agreed. We crossed Columbus Drive and began to make our way onto the vast Balbo Avenue overpass which crossed over the CTA train tracks. As I looked off into the distance, I could see we were not alone.
